Wendy Isaac Bergin, Author/Musician

Fiction that explores the power of music, the beauty of the natural world, the interaction of the supernatural with the natural.

ABOUT ME

Wendy Isaac Bergin, a Louisiana native, is a lover of language and music, and the genre that combines them both: opera. She gets to indulge her passion regularly as principal flutist of Houston’s Opera in the Heights Orchestra. A seasoned veteran of the halls of academia—another hotbed of high drama—she has served on the music faculties of Prairie View A&M University, the University of Houston, Blinn College, and Lee College. During the three years she lived in Stockholm, she made solo and chamber music recordings for the Swedish National Radio. As a recorder player, she has performed with Houston Grand Opera, the Victoria Bach Festival, and Ars Lyrica Houston. Wendy is the author of four novels—The Piper’s Story: A Tale of War, Music and the Supernatural, The Threshold of Eden, Lessons in the Wild, and The Time of Noblest Mirth. After many years of big-city living, she now enjoys rural life in the almost-hill-country of Texas.
